Mr. Mark Neumann, time for a chat

Here's to you Mark Neumann, you're a fiscal conservative and an effective legislator with the best interests of the people in mind.  You are just the kind of candidate we need to help take back state government from what Ayn Rand called, "the looters."

The problem is that such a job won't be yours, Sir.  Yes, I know you've heard it before, I'm just adding my voice to the chorus.

Mr. Neumann, since you love your state and you wish to return to public service - you need to challenge Russ Feingold for the Senate seat (that should have become yours in 1998) and abandon your Gubernatorial designs.

The reasons are simple and hardly unknown...
  • The Walker forces are too strong.  He's better funded, has majority support of the party leadership and the GOP rank and file.
  • Mr. Walker has a very real chance of beating Mr. Barrett - you could cast more momentum his way, by throwing your support to the Walker campaign.
  • You are the only credible candidate with Washington experience and a chance to beat Feingold.  (The reasons why Tommy Thompson won't and shouldn't run for anything, are beyond the scope of this chat).
  • You lost to Mr. Feingold by a slim margin last time when the tea leaves favored him.  He and other stalwarts in his party, are obviously quite vulnerable today.  You can beat him, Sir.
Mr. Neumann, be a pragmatist and do what's best for the rest of us.  You will not win the September primary anyway.  There is still time to displace Mr. Feingold, but you must change horses soon.

Thanks for listening.
